Unlearning habits to make parenting fun

Old habits die hard. We, as parents, forget to unlearn several life lessons. But is it really important to unlearn teachings we learnt the hard way? And how much of unlearning can parents do? The answer lies within us. The key is to have an open-mind and adapt to the situation. Some ways of parenting might work for some, while entirely the opposite might be the trick. Have you unlearned yet that… …you can’t tell your child that you will tell them about sex when they grow up? You have to answer them truthfully, giving as much information as they can digest at a given age. Whether they ask you at the tender age of six or at the impressionable age of ten, pitch in before someone else does.
