I wasn't really sure if I should have a blog on parenting, after all, the web is full of them. I didn't want to add to the clutter. But then, having learnt so many things while being a mom to a nine year old son, I wanted to share my learnings. So, here I am.

I definitely have come a long way from being a headstrong, logical and ever questioning teenager to a woman who has to think hard to answer some of the tricky questions my son often comes up with. I find myself struggling to be honest while being sensitive to his age when I am answering the non-ending (and these days, quite tricky questions) shooting non-stop from my son's mouth. It's a task you all must face regularly too.

Believe me, it's fun to unlearn so many things we grow up with. I have learnt newer stuff and seen things from a different perspective with my son. These I will be sharing with you here, and also my failures and successes.

I will keep this short since this is an introductory piece. Through this blog, I want to pay a small tribute in my own way to all the moms world over, who keep nurturing the building blocks of generation after generation with love and sacrifice, and all they ask in return is love.

At all times, we mustn't forget, people might say anything but moms are always right...well almost always! :-)

Being Thirteen - Where am I?

I must admit  I have been quite lazy this winter down under and enjoyed every bit of it. But now I have an itch to blog, and I think I have the perfect occasion to as my son, Aabshaar, turns thirteen in a couple of days, well, officially at least. When Mum Travels...

It’s not easy managing two blogs though not difficult if you post once a year but am trying not to get there, for now. I am guilty of not uploading regularly and I need to repair that starting now. I have this brilliant idea (or so I think) to share my impression of one of my recent travels with you. I promise I won’t talk about how to get there neither the best places to visit nor any of those easily available details you can grab off the internet. Okay, so may be a bit about things-to-consider-before-you-plan just to kick-start this post. I am trying bullet points to make it easier to read. I don't iron my son's clothes ;-)

Day 26 I am glad my son doesn't want his clothes ironed. The ten-year-old-and-rapidly-growing-guy loves wrinkled jeans and t-shirts. He feels uncomfortable in shirts and kurtas. These I have to iron. Sometimes, I also iron his inner wears, rarely. Now, he has started to iron his school uniform but I do indulge him from time to time. But boy, ain't I glad that he prefers wearing wrinkled t-shirts in which he practically lives. What more can a lazy mom want! P. S.- He's gonna be pretty upset when he knows am splaying the details over the 'net  :D
