How to get a tattoo?
Easy to get your mom to say ‘yes’…
…piece of cake!
You want a tattoo but you won’t be able to get anywhere near
a parlor if your mom isn’t in the mood. Fret not, there are some pretty effortless
ways you can show her your love and get her opinion on the design. Try some.
- First thing after you get up in the morning, freshen up, sneak up to your mom and hug her tightly. Tell her how much you love her. She will soften immediately and you would have set the course. Be careful not to be too sneaky.
- After you get home, repeat the exercise. Praise her cooking and offer to clean up after the meal. Don’t overdo it.
- Offer to help with the dishes or dusting or some such mind-numbing chore. If you can’t pretend to be enjoying it, at least make a show of it. Less than halfway through, she would shoo you off since you would be more in the way of getting things done than actually getting things done.
- Make yourself generally useful. Ask her about your childhood and see her light up instantly. Mothers are such emotional beings!
- At night, before getting to bed, go lie down with your mom and ask her what you want to. Chances are, you won’t have to work too hard to get her permission. In case, that doesn’t work out, try the following.
Quite difficult to get this to work but worth a shot…
“Wassup dad?”
Dad smiling at the phone, “Hey, babes. How you doing?”
Appears they haven’t seen each other for days but in fact,
they just had dinner a while back.
“Umm, I want to ask you something. Is it a good time?”
“Sure, tell me.” When’s a good time?
Straight to the point, “Thinkin' of getting a tattoo. Is it okay if I
get it on my lower back?”
Redirect it to the location of the inked enterprise. Dad
grinning sheepishly, at his mobile, “Oh yeh, sounds great. Did you ask your
mom?”
“She wants you to be okay with it,” she would say
this eventually. By the time they discuss it, you would have been hopefully stamped. Risk it.
“Am cool, if she is okay too.”
Say no more. “You are the best dad, love ya.”
“Back at you honey.”
Two days later, you are tattooed and your parents still
haven’t talked. God, you have been lucky but fingers crossed still. The
location of the decoration will ascertain when your mom makes the discovery.
P.S.: It is advisable to select the design of the tattoo way ahead, saves time at the parlor. Imagine if your mom decides to have one too!
